Default Windshield Writing

So I bought a new winter beater, cleaned it washed it etc. runs well. My only problem is the windshield. This car stays outside 24/7 and each morning when I get it in dew is there (on windows), leaving what the owner had written on the windshield. Now I've washed it, scrubbed it, clayed it and used Stoner's windshiled cleaner (acitone) and it still appears. Once the car is dry/ no water on windshield you cannot see anything. How the heck do I get rid of this? It's just annoying when I'm driving in the rain and I can see traces of handwriting on my windshield.

wow .. suprising stoner's invisible glass left those results.. i'm always hearing such good things..

maybe a 50/50 Isopr..alc and water solution ?

I machined (porter cabled) a guys windshield once (for other smearing and marks) with a cleaner polish like AIO..came out beautifully and then he told me later the aIO acted like rain x.. so maybe thats' another route as well if you can get access to a machine.

Simon is on track. If the alcohol won't do it it'll need polished with something like Autoglym or vanilla moose

Ya, I was surprised as well that Stoners didn't do much. I don't have an orbital, but I'll try some alcohol/ water solution. What do you think about using polish on it? Washing it again, then Stoners over that ?

Glass polish would do it. As would some super-killer stuff like 3M adhesive remover. I've used the 3M to completely clean windshields of all residue. It's amazing, but pretty toxic stuff.

Autoglym, Sonus and Zaino all make a glass polish. As suggested, you can also use a paint polish (preferably one without oils!)... By machine is easiest, but it could be done by hand as well.

I've seen a lot of reference to the product "AIO cleaner polish". Can any one elaborate? I tried to find it and must not have the name correct. Is AIO an abbreviation? Where can I get it? Sorry for jumping in on this thread.

It's an abbreviation for "all-in-one" and is made by Klasse.
