Default WORK XD9 Matte Bronze made Glossy.

XD9s are the wheels I rock and I am looking to polish them to a high gloss. Is that possible? I have PC7424XP with 4" pads. What products and/or what proceedure will I need to take? Will I need to send them with 3000 gritt and polish them out?

If I mess up I will have them refinished in Silver but thought I try this first.

To give you and idea on the finish I am looking for... New Glossy Like RE30s

Well, to be honest, if you want them glossy, you might want a reputable wheel or paint place to spray a glossy clear on them. I really wouldnt advise trying to sand them to get gloss. Not sure how thin the finish is on those, but it can't be too thick.

If you want to try, use the pc, with the least agressive polish first. Also, make sure you wash and clay them, so you dont scratch them up, by the pad picking up unwanted contamination.

There is such thing as Glossy Clear? Or are you referring to the regular yellowish clear used on all paints. I though it's the prep and not the clear it self that makes things shiny. Hmmm...

yellowish clear????? if you get a good wheel shop to clear those u will have the look u want... sanding and polishing powdercoat will do you nothing but ruin a set of wheels

Clear coat naturally is yellowish that is sprayed on cars, rims, boats and in other words that is used in shops and but because it goes on so thin it comes out to look clear.

I was asking is it possible to polish out XD9 and if not that's fine.

Is it really JUST the clear that makes VOLK RE30s looks so shiny? OR is it the finish underneath the clear coat that makes them look that way.

Hand Polished them with Meguiar's D151 Reconditioning cream.

Great turn out. If I do it one more time it'll look even better!

Will get pix later.

For comparison...

Before: They have 2 coats of NXT2.0 Wax on them too since that's the day I installed them

After: Just D151 Treatment

Nice work. How long did it take you to do all 4 wheels?

1.5 TO 2 hours? But there is plenty of room for improvement if I use a machine or some sort of polishing ball by mothers or some like that.
