Xpel Clear Bra
Any of you guys have the Xpel Clear Coat Bra on your car? Its made by 3M. I have read all of the literature on it. It sounds pretty sweet, despite some cosmetic issues( Lines etc.)
Is it difficult to apply yourself? I am kind of handy and have applied vinyl graphics to boats etc. Do you buy the template kits or can you just buy the material and cut it to fit yourself?
Looks like the S2k kit is 189.95 for the Top and 289.95 for the bumper. Kinda pricey in my opinion.

Of friend of mine has a Porsche Carrera and he has something very similiar to the what is titled "clear bra" from what I understand it was pretty pricey for him to have it put on, but from what I understand there was 2 yr??? warranty on it and it can be removed without damage to the original finish. I looked at it and I couldn't tell it was on there till he pointed out the thin edge of the bra itself. If you can do it yourself sounds like a pretty good investment.
From what I understand Expel only protects the front of the car. Some of the higher end companies such as Armourfend protect the entire nose of the car as well as the door sills, wheel wells, mirrors, even where your fingernails scratch the paint when opening the door!
I've had the Xpel kit on my car for 18 months now. I did the install myself. It was a challenge but do-able for someone who is handy. The nose piece is the most intimidating piece to do. Have lots of RapidTac on hand and maybe a helper. Get the kit as opposed to the material itself. The front of this car is too complicated to try to cut yourself. My kit included the nose cap, the area above the headlights, hood, mirrors. I custom made the pieces for the headlights myself. The entire paint kit cost me about $300.00 Can. The headlight material runs about 5 bucks a foot. You'll need at least 3 feet (4 on the safe side). Fix all the paint chips first, then do a good polish on the paint before applying the film. The film has a tremendous ability to stretch to meet the edges of the panel you're trying to cover. That's why 2 people will come in handy. Let is sit in the sun for a few hours after before you drive the car anywhere (or overnite).
