You should use clay whenever you need to. The way you can tell if you need to clay is to take some plastic wrap (like you use to wrap up food) and stretch it over your fingers. Then, take your fingers and run them over your paint. If the paint feels bumpy then you need to clay. Since the car was probably out on the dealer's lot for awhile it could probably use some claying.
That's exactly what I needed to know, thanks! Actually, it was literally rolled off the truck and into my hands...I'm thinking clay next month. Thanks again...

I ordered the zaino package you guys reccomended, but I still have one question. After I apply the Z1 and Z5, do I have to wait for the Z5 to dry before I apply Z6? Thanks in advance.

I just got my new 06 on Tuesday, finally had a chance to get out the Zaino and go to work for a while today.

I think that the clay bar step is essential to getting the best finish. Even on my new car I am taking the time to do this step, all of the rail dust, brake dust, grit and grime that landed on my paint before I got it, just gotta get outta there.

FYI: I regret the entire board, that Homer2 has suspended his Zaino Distribution Business for the interim, due to personal reasons. Please do not try to contact him at this below information.

H.R. Parts - N - Stuff
537 Pinewood Street, Oshawa Ontario L1G 2S2
Contact Info: Dennis Fraser (Homer2 - name on this forum)
E-Mail: Zainoguy@durham.net
Phone: (905) 579-3488 - Cell (905) 767-5265

As soon as I get word, to his future, I will let the board know again.

I contacted Sal personally, and wanted to "step in" and become a Canadian Distributor for the Greater Toronto Area , however I was surprisingly denied.

For the time being, the only Canadian Distributor is Mike at Zaino.ca His service is great.

For those in the Greater Toronto Area, an alternative to Mike is "The Barber's Chair" establishments in many of the surrounding areas malls. They carry the basics.

Its officially been declared that Homer2 will no longer be "peddling" zaino. He and I had a brief email discussion about it and he may return next season. Many things still up the air no doubt. I will be attempting to buy his residual stock and attemtp to re-sell for anyone. He is currently working on getting me a list of these items. Until then, case closed.

So can someone clarify the "layering" process with Zaino? My method has been:

1. ZFX (using Z5)
2. Z2
3. Z6
4. Repeat from #1

Just got my Zaino the other day, and preparing to do the whole thing on my 3 months-old car. This forum and this thread has been extremely helpful. But I still have one stupid question:

Do I need to apply traditional wax after layers of Z5s and Z2s???

Really dumb, but I really appreciate an answer.
