Default Zaino Help Urgent

I applied z1 and z2 yesterday. I let it dry for about 7 hours. When I wiped it down it with a 100% cotton cannon towel it seemed to come off easy and pass the smear test.

However, this morning when I look at it I have 6 inch diameter spot on the hood that is darker then the rest of the hood.

What happened? What do I do?

Was the humidity high, temperature below 60 degrees, and/or you applied a more than 3/4 of an ounce ? If so it was probably not dry in spots. No big deal as long as car was garaged. Just wipe it off now that it has had time to dry. Go over whole car with Z6. When removing it is easy to tell if it is dry by how slick the finish becomes after wiping off. The towel will not sit on hood without sliding down. I almost always let mine dry overnight. Have applied once in cool weather a let dry for 24 hours.

So do I go ahead and apply the z2 for my second coat (this would happen tonight which is 24 hours after I wiped it down) or do I need to re-apply the z1 and start over again? Will the dark spot just disapear on its own?

Thanks for the help...

First you need to determine if the spot is Zaino that was not dry and wiped off? It should not be dark but hazy light color. Have you tried to wipe off today and use Z6 after? Is the spot still there? What color car do you have? If it is not Zaino and will not wipe off it would have to be a stain or spot on car before you applied Zaino. Zaino will not spot of color and is almost 100% clear. If this is the case you will have to remove the Zaino then remove spot. To remove Zaino you will need isopropyl alcohol a clean white 100% cotton towel and some elbow grease.

HondaGal has a GB going, I do not know if it is still on. Try PMing her. If not, check with other s2k owners in your area and they may point you to your local rep. I also think you can buy directly from their web site if you are in the US (not sure about this though).

Thanks again
Did you 1st Wash with Dawn, 2ed Clay bar, 3ed rewash with Z7? If not you probably left wax or some other contaminants on your finish. You can e-mail Sal at wet@zainobros.com with specific questions, but isopropyl alcohol will not damage/remove the clear coat.
