Default Zaino starts tonight

I'm about to embark on the Zaino mission. The plan:

Tonight
1. Wash with dawn and dry completely
2. Clay bar
3. 3M Swirl Mark Remover for Dark Colored Cars (as needed)
4. Wash with Z7 and dry completely
5. 3 coats Z5 with ZFX (and Z6 between)

Tomorrow evening:
1. Wash car with Z7 and dry completely
2. 3 coats Z2 with ZFX (and Z6 between)

Any other suggestions?
If I don't get too excited, maybe I'll take the digicam down to the garage for some before and after shots.

Nope, sounds great and I must tell you I did pretty much the same thing last weekend and I was amazed at the result. I've a a red S too so let me know what you think. Only use the clay where you need it!!! Really! feel you car with your hand and if it's smooth don't clay! Here are some shots of my car after Zaino

i wouldnt clay unless you need to...
see the recent post about claying and scratching the car (rate, but it happens)
also would not swirl remove unless you know you have lotsa swirls... swirl remover also removes a bit of your clear coat which is o.k. if you really have swirls, but not o.k. if you dont

First day complete and all I can say is WOW. The car looks gorgeous. I thought it was shiny to begin with, now it's in a whole different zip code. The neighbors think I'm crazy - washing, cleaning, re-washing, and waxing an already shiny car.

I clayed the car a little here and there where it needed it, no problem with scratches (I've used clay on several other cars in the past). My car came with the optional dealer-installed swirl marks, so it needed a little help from the 3M swirl remover. That actually made a bigger difference than I expected, apparently my paint was more affected by infrequent waxing than I expected, though I wash it every week.

Unfortunately, I noticed that I have a little bit of water spot etching, but it's only noticeable from a few inches away. I didn't even bother trying to take it down enough to buff that out, that would take off too much clear coat. The Zaino is probably the easiest thing I've ever waxed a car with (Meguiar's was my prior favorite). I mixed just over 1 oz. of z5 with 5 drops ZFX. I used almost 1/2 of that on the first coat. I also learned that the thicker you apply, the harder it is to buff out. It goes on easier and spreads thinner on the subsequent coats. After completing the second and third coats, there was enough left in the bottle to easily get a 4th coat (but I followed the max of 3 coats in 24 hours). So my results are pretty close to the 3 coats = 1 oz. that other have reported using.

The Z6 spray really makes the shine jump out at you. I can tell I'm going to need to order a few more bottles of that. I can't wait to get the Z2 on the car and see what that does for it. That should be either today or tomorrow.

My wife even seemed impressed. She just wants to know when I'm going to do her car.

You can also Dilute the Z6 - I believe Sal says 1:1 ratio

Enjoy!

and when you get to be really addicted to this process, you can try some carnuba over everything else!! (i use p21s- gives an even deeper shine, imo).
