Zymol does it again

He's been using Zymol Creame, after only using a glaze for the first 6 months after painting. It's a lighter formula than Japon, which is fine because of the multiple layers of clearcoat plus it's always garaged plus it's not driven regularly.
I could use the Creame for the silver paint but Japon is thicker to compensate for the supposedly "thinner" Japanese paint. My car is also garaged but is a daily driver.
Cheers,
Diane

[QUOTE=carpe diem,Sep 18 2005, 02:51 PM]What kind of glaze did he use after the painting? I had to have the bumper repainted and want to use something on it while waiting for the paint to cure. Thanks
MOST shops don't bake, though - it's difficult to effectively bake paint without damaging the rest of the soft parts of the car, so unless the car's been stripped completely (engine, seals, interior, etc taken out) and painted it's likely not baked.
I can see how this might be the case with some of these high-end paint jobs and show cars Zymol caters to, though.

it is much easier for the body shop to bake the paint when they are doing a frame off restoration. However, I would ask anyway. Several of my friends have had body work done recently and all their paint jobs were baked. If they had to replace your bumper cover or remove it to re-align it, then it's very possible they sprayed it and baked it while it was off the car.

I've heard good things about 3M Imperial Hand Glaze for fresh repaints.
I have to revise my post about what Zymol he's using...it's actually Carbon, not Creame. My apologies.
Cheers,
Diane
The RX-7 looks great! I wish the RX-8 was half as good looking as the RX-7. I'm glad to hear that you are using Zymol to keep up the appearance of the Mazda and your S. I'm not sure why so many people seem to feel that Zymol is only for collector cars worth tons of money (not just people on this board I've heard it before). Sure they don't make products which restore the finish of your car, but if the finish on your car is already great their products keep it that way. There products have kept my S looking better than new and before that my Audi TT and also my unlce's '93 Mercedes E320 Cabriolet. No mega dollar collector cars on that list. Just two guys wanting their cars to shine so much that they blind other drivers.
