WTB: rear tires
Looking to buy some rear tires as mine are bald. I think right now I have 17/65/255 Sumitomo ZR III or something. lol. I don't mind mixing and matching. Any recommendations where to get new ones? Old ones are ok too! Thanks

The proper size is 255/40/17. 2 of them (shipped) to Point Roberts is $255. Don't be cheap and get new matching tires. Remember, they are the only part of the car that actually touches the road.

I just got a pair of Dunlop Star Specs, ap1 rear size, from Tirerack. Had them shipped to TDS (Tire Distribution Systems) in Ferndale, and installed down there. Ended up being $370 Can. all said and done, although customs didn't charge any duties or taxes, just waved me through.
For comparison, i was quoted $497 otd from Volco Tire, here in Vancouver.

yeah man, don't cheap out on tires. Change them if they're bald. Esp with the rain here in vancouver, it's so easy to hydro plane. I did a crazy quad-fishtail going straight at 60kph on Kingsway while waiting for my tires to arrive.
as for mixing and matching, it's actually fine if you're not driving hard or want max performance. Most of us (esp myself!) don't really drive the car at anything close to the limits, to really be concerned with mixing and matching front and rear. As for left right, i would stick to the same (tread pattern affects grip)
With the cold setting in, you shouldn't be driving or cornering too fast anyways, cus it's just plain dangerous
