Going to be in SD this summer!
So, my girlfriend and I are going to be in San Diego this summer. We're both law students, and she's got a job with a firm out there. I'm still in the job hunt (so if anyone is hiring legal interns!!! contact me!!)
We're renting a condo in Little Italy, but don't know a whole lot about the area since we've never lived in SD.
I'm just looking to get information on good restaurants, things to see and do, nightlife, etc. The more information the better!! I know this is a rather vague post, but you can only learn so much on wikipedia
Thanks for the help!! If I come up with more specific questions I'll definitely post them up
I'm also undecided on whether or not to bring out the girlfriend's car or my S for the summer . . . but she's not big on the practicality level of the S

Beaches
You will get tempted to drive top down in the nice SD weather and hit the beaches. La Jolla Shores & all the beaches that surround that area are great, it's more high class area & i like to skim board/boogie board at that beach because it is not that crowded. Mission Beach is more for better kickbacks in my opinion. pacific beach or ocean beach if you want to surf.
Clubs & Night life
I'm not too big in the clubbing scene like I used to but there are a few big ones. "On Broadway", "Belo", "Deco", those are the only ones I know. The most cracking is "On Broadway". ANywhere in Downtown is pretty sweet. There is also Dave & Busters if you like to drink, eat, and play games (It's like an adult CHuckie Cheese).
Amusement parks
If you are wiulling to drop some $$$ to check out the amusement parks, there's Sea World, Balboa Park, Lego Land.
Get to know people
Me personally, I just like to meet and socialize with people (I'm still in college). Parties, parties, parties & kickbacks, these are a few things what I do on my weekends.

I agree that Little Italy would be a pretty great place to rent an apt for a summer. Great location
I'd suggest trying out all the beaches, because they all seem to have a different crowd and atmosphere. I'd check out downtown and pb nightlife. If you bring the S, just be careful around mission valley and the college area, a lot of theft. Check out Belmont Park and the boardwalk. Take a drive up into the hills from Poway up into Ramona or Julian. North County is nice in the vineyards, etc.
You really can't beat San Diego. I'm pretty sure you guys will want to move here permanently after just one summer.

yeah, the plan now is to move there after school . . . the g/f will most likely get a permanent job offer after this summer
thanks for the tips about places to check out! Sadly, I think the S is gonna get left here in VA for the summer . . . but if anyone has a car we could lease for the summer, or know someone who does that would be great. I'm looking to avoid doing a long term rental from National, Avis, etc.
also glad to hear Little Italy is a good spot, we like going out, but neither of us really wanna "beat the beat back" in a club . . . we like chill bars, wine . . . can't beat a beer on the beach

But let me get this straight. Youre coming to San Diego for Summer, and you might not bring the S?
