jeremy, thought you were gonna move back out here to SD? when is that gonna happen?
OK.... here's MY review of the PHO KING....
1. Parking is not too bad.
2. Facilities were new and appeared clean
3. The tables do not have napkins or chopsticks, instead they bring them to you.
3. No fish sauce available
4. Wait time was decent, approx 12-15 minutes.
5. PHO broth was not piping hot. BIG dissappointment. PHO broth has to be HOT enough that you need it to cool off before you eat it.
6. Vegetables were fresh and lots of grass leaves with the basil which I really like.
7. The meat in the PHO was too grissly. A few pieces here and there is ok, but after the first couple of pieces I pulled it all out and found A LOT of it in the soup.
8. The brisket and flank were low quality and appeared to have been hand cut due to the inconsistency of size and even end pieces that were hard to chew.
9. Overall flavor was ok.
On a scale of 1-10 of PHO restaurants in SD that I've eaten at I would give PHO KING a score of 4. The dining experience started off well but once the soup came it went all down hill from there.
PHO HOA is by far the BEST PHO and I almost feel guilty eating at PHO KING because I could see Pho Hoa kitty corner across the street.
JMHO....
