Thumbs up LAPTOP COMPUTER HELP

Need your help with Laptop suggestions. Which brand leads the market in Laptops these days as far as performance/reliability and prestige. Which brands should I avoid?

So far I'm considering:

Hewlett Packard
Sony
Dell

Which of these would you go with first?

Looking to spend between $900-$1200.

Thanks for your inputs.

Tim

Tim buddy...this website will be your best friend:

http://www.goodbazaar.com/free_onlin...asp?store=DELL

I've bought three Dells using coupons from that website.

well i am a bit of a sony whore, although they have let me down in the past and are overpriced. however, they do have a model in your price range that looks very capable, here:

here is another i would consider, has a nifty little camera on it.

not a bad laptop, but certainly good for the price.

Thanks for the info guys/gals..... Because of the peripheral requirements I went with Dell which offered more ports.

This is the setup I purchased.

Inspiron E1705 w/Intel Core Duo Processor
Windows XP media center w/remote
17 inch wide screen XGA + Display
1 GB dual channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ
100 GB hard drive
8X cd/dvd burner, dvd+/-RW double layer DVD+R writing capability
Intel PRO/wireless network
Dell wireless 350 bluetooth
Cordless bluetooth mouse

Thanks for the coupon links
