Default New from Carlsbad

Hello Everyone, Nichigo suggested I introduce myself here instead. Please visit my main s2ki intro posting here: My link I bought this lucky find 2002 s2000 silverstone near mint condition with only 18k well cared for miles. Practically brand new I had a 2005 audi s4 before this (was newish to cars and couldn't stand how much the s4 cost to maintain). I never drove manual before other than a golf utility cart, but am a gamer that grew up playing racing games and go karting lol.. so I just visualized the pedals, shifting, and proper techniques. Drove an hour and a half up north of LA to check out and buy this lucky find... having never driven manual, I was forced to learn real quick! hahaha.

I'm 6'4 and need to drop the seat. Nichigo mentioned BYS rails if I can find them otherwise it's a DIY. I'm wondering how much I'll need to drop the seat in order to feel comfortable in the car, be able to heel-toe if possible lol, and wear a helmet for qualcomm days (never been, but want to get into autocross).

Welcome to the club. The S2000 was my first Manual Transmission experience as well. Hope to see you at meet and congrats on a great find.

Lol Yes very different. The s4 was much heavier (almost 3900 lbs cw), but handled very well. It's strange having a real wheel drive after quattro, i'm not used to the back end scooting out as much. Saving over $300 per month between gas, maintenance, repairs, and insurance is a great perk in addition to all the other perks of owning an s2k lol

That is great Tyrocx Hopefully you will keep your S or keep it in one piece lol.

I have been an owner of my S since the early 2000. Still a 13 yr old car but have not even thought of getting rid of it SIts around collecting dust lol.

Oh? How many miles do you have on it? I take exceptional care of my cars and plan on keeping the s2k forever. I would have done the same with the Audi, but was just too expensive to maintain, let alone ever tuning it. What is the highest mileage s2000 you or anyone else knows of?
