I can't remember exactly, but I believe the top was around $1200, and installation cost was about $500. The guy who installed it does a lot of work for the Honda dealership off Convoy.

I recently had my soft top replaced with a Robbins top, at Quality Auto Upholstery on Ronson Road. He did a good job at a reasonable price.

Ron. Long time, good Sir. I popped over here to see if there were any familiar names left after all these years. I hope you are well. If you still have the same '02 Suzuka Blue.....I'd be curious to see how many miles you're up to now. I'm currently at 298k+ and should turn 300k by the end of the month.

As to the original post question.....Robbins tops without a doubt. I've had 6 tops over the 17 years I've owned this car including factory tops, canvas Robbins and vinyl Robbins tops. They are great quality and fit, plus they back their products very well ( 2 replaced under warranty).

6 Tops on your s2000? I'm just now looking to replace mine on my 2003 and was considering Robbins but now hat concerns me about Robbins if they only last a few years.

Thanks

Yes, 6 tops. In fairness......

The original was replaced by Honda. A large number of the early cars had creasing issues right above your shoulder. Enough so that we got Honda to warranty them. So that's 2 there.

Then I went with the Robbins canvas. Unfortunately the glass window decided to delaminate so they replaced it. I loved the canvas. It looked nicer for about 5 years. Then when it started to go...... It went fast. Sagging and wear holes were a serious problem. So there's 2 more.

Then I switched back to vinyl (always with the glass conversion in all my tops) from Robbins and unfortunately after just under a year it developed a split in one of the panel seams so they just replaced it again. That makes 6.

On a sidenote, I always use Aerospace 303 to protect my tops. Great product. I think the biggest killer is that the car was always exposed to the elements. UV is brutal on these things. It's garaged now so we're both happier.

Hope that clears it up a bit

I'm a bit off topic but I have a question. I have an old soft top taken out of a '02. I just need to get rid of for a reasonable price (can go for cheap but not too cheap). How much should I be asking for it? no tear at all, just old.
