Starting this thread here:
I'm having some trouble with the vendor that goes by the name of McFab.
He is selling the replica Gears lips in the sponsors exterior forum. I contacted him and purchased the Authentic version of the lip from him (the one he used to make the molds from). I paid $1,000 for the lip, shipping, paypal fees, insurance, and tracking through Paypal. I will provide you with a brief history of events below, if you need more specifics I can provide copies of out PM's and texts. I paid this guy on 7/2 and with it now being 7/23 and after him missing 5 deadlines and not following up a single time I'm beginning to near the end of my patience.
I was first told that it was going to ship on the weekend after the 2nd. After he missed that deadline I followed up and was told that it was going to ship on 9th. I followed up on the 10th and he responded with pictures of massive flooding in his area and said he couldn't get to work ect... He then stated that he will get the lip picked up and shipped out that weekend. After that didn't happen he stopped responding or reading my PM's so I began sending texts.
On the 19th I was told that he had it boxed and was going to ship it tomorrow. He added that his sister got married, his son turned 1, and in the flooding his basement was destroyed. All totally understandable reasons for delay, but the fact that I had to follow up each time really aggravates me. On the 20th I asked him if he was able to ship the lip, he said yes but that the tracking number was at home on his dresser. Every day since then I have followed up and been told that he 'hasn't been home' or today he just stopped responding.
I'm not sure what to do at this point. I've tried following up with PM's and text for the past few days. He hasn't looked at my PM's since the 10th I think, and he stopped responding to my texts a few days ago.
I'm getting incredibly irritated at this point. I've been after that lip for almost 10 years now, and to get this close and have things fall apart really sucks. It looks like he's failing to communicate with anyone else who also made a purchase through him.
It's become obvious at this point that he's not responding so I'm throwing up all of the available information that I have.
I've contacted Paypal in an attempt to get my money back. The simple fact is I'd rather have the authentic Gears lip instead of the money back. I can't even begin to explain how frustrating this situation is.

That's understandable.
I think you mentioned earlier that you picked it up for "over six bills", so let me offer you $700 +shipping.
I understand that you want to make back what you paid for it, which I;m fine with, but honestly with all of the reproductions hitting the market the price of the authentic is going to go way down. When Rockstar releases their the floodgates are going to be open, and everyone and their brother is going to have one.

If you don't want to part with the lip that's fine, but just tell me and I'll stop bothering you. I've been operating under the impression that you're willing to sell it, I'm just trying to figure out what you want for it so that I can see if it falls in line with what I'm willing to pay.

Realistically, I would want $1000 to part with this lip. I dont really even want to sell it, but thats the number that comes to my head to let it go with little regret, even tho I know I will regret it once I sell it. If thats too much I understand, but I have no problem keeping it.

I've been busy all weekend, and I haven't had time to sit down and think about it. $1,000 is a ton of money for a lip. Honestly, before it was replicated I would have payed it no questions. Now I'm a little hesitant.
I want the lip, I just think that's a little much. Hell, were only $300 different between offers. I'm sure we can figure something out.

I paid 650 shipped. To only get 700 plus shipping there's no reason for me to sell it. I don't even want to sell it but in order for me to actually get rid of it it's gotta be worth it. And yes there are replicas now, but there's only a handful of authentics left

If we do this, how can we guarantee that i get the authentic one? It's painted Seabring correct? Do you have any pictures of that lip currently? Was is damaged at all during the molding process? What is shipping (with insurance) going to run to 85206? If we go through with this, how quickly can you ship the lip out to me?

The lip is currently at the fiberglass guy. It'll come to you primes and ready to paint. The "gears" logo is embedded into the fiberglass where as the replicas don't say anything inside. I could get out there this weekend since the fiberglass guy is about 3 hours from me, and then I could ship it out ASAP after that. 1000 shipped is my number and that includes Paypal fees. Oh ok, I did not realize that there was a logo on the backside. Can you get me a picture of it?
Also, why is it primed now and not painted? Was the lip damaged in anyway during the cloning process?
I'd like pictures of the lip in it's current condition, and pictures of the logo on the back. If you could snap a few of it mounted so I can get a general idea of the fitment that would be fantastic. Other than that I'm down to do this.

It wasn't damaged but some of the paint peeled off which I knew was going to happen because that's just A risk of the process. There are lots of fitment pictures. It fits perfect. It's authentic. Ill get you pictures of the gears logo. You need to paint it red anyways paint doesn't matter.
If you want the lip let me know. If not then that's fine. Ill keep it, I'm not going to jump through all these hoops and you decide you don't want to buy it. I don't have time or patience for that. I have a son, two jobs and 3 side businesses.
110% authentic. Never damaged in any way. Crazy rare. And the price is set. Let me know what you want to do.

Ok. That makes sense. I just wanted to make sure that the lip was re-primed due to the paint being removed and it not being damaged.
I'm sorry I'm not trying to tell you to jump through a bunch of hoops to persuade me. I just wanted to verify that the lip hasn't been damaged and repaired.
I would like to see a picture of the logo and the current condition. I've seen your previous fitment pictures, and I'll go back and look through those.
$1,000 paypaled and shipped with insurance is fine. I'll send you the money once I have the pics.
I know you already know, I just need to make sure that it's insured and it's packed properly so that it makes it to my place on once piece.
I've learned the hard way that I need to put everything I expect in writing. I've been screwed before, so I do my best to get every question I have down in writing before I send money.

I just want to make sure, that we have everything outlined. Like I said, I've been burned in the past, and I always try to err on the side of caution when dealing with long distance transactions. So, in summary:

I thought I read that you were looking at doing an LS swap? Oh I think I also read that you were looking at the Tracysports kit too.
There was a guy here locally that had the Tracysports kit. I'm not usually a fan of widebodys but he had that thing fir by a customs shop around here and man it fit like OEM. All the body lines were even and perfect. It looked so good.

I noticed you haven't read this message in almost a week but you posted in your thread that the lip were sent out, was mine included with the lips that went out? You mentioned above that you were going to be able to pick up and ship out the lips last weekend, and I still haven't heard anything.

I thought I read that you were looking at doing an LS swap? Oh I think I also read that you were looking at the Tracysports kit too.
There was a guy here locally that had the Tracysports kit. I'm not usually a fan of widebodys but he had that thing fir by a customs shop around here and man it fit like OEM. All the body lines were even and perfect. It looked so good.

Still going ls1, but have been playing around with the idea of either the apr or the Tracy sports. The Tracy sports kit is just so ridiculously expensive I don't think I can justify spending that much on body panels

Yeah, the kit is retarded expensive, but it would be rad with the LS swapped in there. At least you could really make use off all of the extra room fro wheel and tire in the rear.

I'm following up with you again to find the status of the authentic Gears lip.
Have you been able to ship it yet? If so, whats the tracking number? I noticed you haven't read this message in almost a week but you posted in your thread that the lip were sent out, was mine included with the lips that went out? You mentioned above that you were going to be able to pick up and ship out the lips last weekend, and I still haven't heard anything.
Please let me know what the status is at your earliest possible opportunity.
