Fluid change intervals
I got my car last October with 69kmiles. It now has 76k miles. The guy I bought it from claim it had recently had its 60k mile servicing - which I believe would be pretty comprehensive. I'm coming up on an oil change and I'm wondering whether I should just go ahead and replace all of the fluids since I don't really know what was changed when. The previous owner has since stopped responding to emails so he's not talking anymore.
Here are the intervals I dug up from an owner's manual for "severe service":
- Motor Oil - 10w30, 7500 mile interval.
- Tranny Fluid - OEM, 30k mile interval.
- Diff Fluid - 75w90, 15k mile interval.
- Brake Fluid - 45k mile interval.
I don't race my car, but I do drive it fairly aggressively on the street. I don't think that would qualify as "severe service", but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Does anyone know exactly what is done at a 60k mile service? Should I go ahead and just replace all of the fluids to get a baseline for future services, or is that being paranoid?

do all of those fluids plus the clutch fluid and i would also consider a valve adjustment. also check the hoses and inspect the belt for wear as well as the indicator mark for tension
I would suggest that anytime you buy a used car....change ALL the fluids and establish a baseline for service.On the valve adjust,I believe that Honda recommends @ 90k...under nornal conditions.
If you race it or drive @ WOT much,Every 20k or so or if you hear excessive valve click.

Thank you! As a side note, I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS with 190k miles. No valve adjustment has ever been done on that one. Do you think it could benefit from one? The car obviously makes less power than when it was new. I'm sure some of that is from the valves being out of adjustment, but I'm not sure how much.
I would recommend changing the transmission fluid out at a 15K interval as it shears down quickly. Diff could be at 30K. Change your clutch fluid out once a year, it gets dark quickly and known to degrade your master seals.
These recommendation are based on my experience and oil analysis, my transmission is still smooth, not silky like new but smooth, at 193K.
The diff fluid and wear look good at 30K. All is oringinal.
Great recommendation above on valve adjustments, did it at 80K it was not too bad, but went out of spec quickly after the first one, 40K later.

Anyone have an idea on how much it would cost to do all these fluids at a dealer ship? Or should I do all of them myself, except for the brakes since you have to bleed them, and I don't have anything to do that.
Has anyone used Gunk's motor flush before changing oil yourself in your high mileage motors, or have added Sea Foam to your oil afterwards at any time regardless of mileage? The marketing sounds good on the packaging. Please advise.
Here is what I do to my GST,S2K & Z06.
Engine Oil & Filter=5k Amsoil 0w30 & Wix
Clutch & Brake fluid=5k Prestone Dot 4
Clean Air Filter=5k K&N
Coolant=2 Years Prestone 50/50
Man Trans=Every Spring/10k)Amsoil MTF
Diff=Every Spring/10k Amsoil SG 75-110
IMO...Fluid is cheap.Hard parts are not.
