Any procedures on how to inspect motor, trans and diff mounts?
Tried doing a search, but haven't found much information on how to inspect the various mounts on the car short of removing them.
Aside from seeing some type of oil fluid covering the mounts, does anyone have any good methods to inspect the engine, transmission and diff mounts?
I've read a few posts now of failed motor mounts and while my car feels great with no vibration whatsoever, the OCD side of me wants to inspect the mounts.
Also, it seems that engine mounts fail on occasion, but how often do transmission and differential mounts fail?

If you have access to an inspection camera like this: (http://www.amazon.com/Wall-Inspectio...pection+camera) that's the only way I can imagine you can inspect the mounts. My diff mounts had cracked on the side facing the diff. No way to tell until I took them off.
I've seen Billman put a large pry bar under the intake manifold and use the shock tower as a pivot / fulcrum point and check motor mounts that way. He just mentioned this in another thread but I'm striking out at finding it.
That thread got dumped by the topic starter.
Yes you can put a long pry bar under the corner of the throttle body, and pivot off the shock tower bolt to check for a broken mount.
Other side you can use the VTEC valve.
It may sound crud, but it only takes gentle pressure to lift the engine up by it's side.
Pry gently. A good mount will flex and stop. A bad mount will knock up and down.
Trans mounts can be checked by hand just by lifting on the back of the trans by hand.
Dif mounts inspect visually.
