We take a break from feeding them for as long as +1 can hold out before giving in! We don't worry about large volumes of house sparrows; they eat a lot but they are not mean. Keep in mind, we go through 50# feed per week when the "our gang of birds" are hungry.

They stick around here in the winter, but in the last week, their activity is more obvious. They are singing too! I like that! Spring is around the corner!

Two sparrows deciding on where to go for dinner since my fishing line deterrent is still keeping them off my feeders!

Not sure why a little snow brings out the cardinals... had a bunch a few minutes ago, and for every male, there is a female out there also.

Didn't get all of them in the picture, but a number of them.

Very cool! I don't think I've ever seen more than one male and one female at a time in our yard.

The action at my feeders has slowed a bit. Watching for the change in color of the male goldfinch!

A mixed bag of birds at the feeders today with the new snow and colder weather.
