Well, tried to load an amusing image into the Whistledick thread, but the new site is having none of it.

This site has gone seriously downhill the last few years. Makes me not want to come here anymore.

actually think image loading is easier. You can save the image to your device and upload directly from device into a post.

And dont stop coming here. That's when things start going downhill

Type R coming - fanboi in me is thrilled. Just not happy about 20 inch wheels. Looks like the cost of consumables will be higher than the typical Honda. Did I mention it's got 306 HP and 295 lbs ft of torque.

I definitely like the way this looks. I wonder if all that torque will make it feel less Honda-ish. That being said I bet with bolt-ons and tune this car will put down some serious power. All it will need after is r comps and more downforce and I bet it will give much more expensive cars a serious run for their moola.

I agree with some of the comments:
  • It’s just a bit too flamboyant.
  • One of the nice things about the original Civic-R was that it was fairly nondescript. I agree that this one’s over the top.
  • Would be embarassing as a 30+ year old to be caught driving one.
Maybe I'm really old.

Anybody catch the first episode of the new season of Top Gear? I gotta say ditching Evans was by far the best thing they could have done. Much more enjoyable now, and the revised format for the guests is also much better than last season. I think it will still take some time for refinement and the three to develop greater chemistry together, but overall I think they are definitely on the right path, and it's a much better show than it was last season. Plus looking forward to the episode where they test the new Ford GT!

I missed the episode and for some reason the DVR didn't record it.

Ive gotta say that I liked TG as much and possibly a tad more than Grand Tour.

As for the Type R, if I had one I'd drive it, opinions be damned. But I'm not sure it's a car for all seasons like the Si.
