Wasn't it Audi that also required use of the VAG_COM computer to retract brake calipers? Seems they have been trending towards locking people into coming to dealer for simple maintenance items so they can provide a $130 worth of "service" as well as the higher priced dealer parts.

That's why I bought the OBDII unit for clearing stupid error codes that pop up.
My MB S430 had a problem with a noisy seat belt switch.
it would confuse the SRS system and fault it.
You can't get inspection sticker with faulted SRS and dealer wanted $150 to clear codes.

beep beep boop and done.

Went to the Mercedes dealer today to ask a question and on the floor they had the new S43 AMG Cabriolet with a sticker price of about $250,000. Holy mackerel. It was beautiful, but I would be afraid to take it out of the garage.

probably the S63, yup drop dead gorgeous.
I love it but I'd probably 'settle' on the S550 version and save a hundred grand.
and it's 4matic so it will go in the snow.

or you could go for the limited edition maybach version with the biturbo V12.
but since it's useless without pictures... ( mind you I do NOT like the red)

They had the AMG S63 version on the floor at the dealer yesterday.
Matte silver finish though. not sure I can get my head around that.
Only $176,400K sticker, maybe should get his and hers....
New 2017 Mercedes-Benz AMG S63 For Sale | Haverhill MA

sweet looking interior that I certainly could get used to. ( in about 7.5 nanoseconds)

it is hard to describe how big the brake rotors were, those are 20" wheels, the rotors had to be at least 15 of that.
( looked it up, 390 mm = 15.3") I've had tires that weren't that big.

For that price you would think you'd get something better than cardboard floor mats. Looks comfortable. Personally I think cars in that price range are a joke but that's probably because its way out of range for me.

When owning my Audi RS6 the battery was replaced every 2 years. The expense of the car was the reason that it was replaced. I did though love its acceleration…that is, while it was running. Kinda’ got used to its “Check Engine Light” glowing and made some close knit friends with my local Audi Service Techs. It had fewer than 55k miles.
