Default Power Window Relay Wiring Issues

Hi All,

First time poster, long time lurker, had a look and couldn't see anything regarding this however if it's been covered elsewhere then please point me in the right direction!

Recently I had some issues with my drivers window and it stopped working, following that it was intermittent and would sometimes move a little, fully, not at all, etc.. So I decided to take the door card off to have a look and this is what I found

As you can see, a bit of a bodge DIY job! Was hoping for a loose wire or something but of course it wasn't that simple. My knowledge of car electronics is very limited so I'm not too sure on what I'm looking at here and how it should properly look, does anyone have any ideas of how this should be and what my problem could be?

From my understanding (I could be wrong), I don't think the loose wires need to be going anywhere as that wouldn't really explain why it was intermittent. There was another live(red) and neutral(blue) wires coming from the somewhere in the door, however I'm guessing that maybe one of the previous owners rewired this and replaced it with the blue and red at the top of the photo but only used the neutral of the two? Although like I said my knowledge is very limited.

Any ideas on this? Would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Looks like someone used Hella type relays arrangement. Check your wiring with this generic setup.

Thanks for this, will use that as a basis and see if I can figure it out.
