I took a polartec jacket. It was warmish while I was there (March 17-21) as was predicted.

My sister posted this on Facebook from March 24th ( 3 days after I left her house) of the snow drift in her backyard, up and over the side fence into the neighbor's yard.

Hope everyone has a nice Easter Sunday. We are headed to the Nats/Phillies game later. On Thurs the +1 leaves with his team for the 200-mile Smoky Mountain relay in NC. It is very challenging...I doubt his team members have any idea what they are getting into. He went last year by himself and joined a team from Duke University. It's lots of trail running through forests, culverts, fire breaks, etc, etc. Rocky and steep and mountainous. Just insane...he returns Sun and attempts to recover.

I will be pursuing less strenuous activities. Fri a Toulouse Lautrec exhibit downtown with a friend followed by lunch at a Greek restaurant, and Sun an art fair up the road with another friend followed by an early dinner. I may also help out Sat with cleanup around the condo in honor of Earth Day.

^ Looks like rain is going to make mud a factor in the race this weekend, to add to all the other obstacles. At least it will be an event to remember for the team!
"Overnight relay runners love the Smoky Mountain relay, which was patterned after the famous Hood to Coast relay (12-person, 2-van team) in the Pacific Northwest. As a team member, you will experience the 212 miles of trails, forest service, and rural county roads that traverse this beautiful area. The overnight relay run starts at Pink Beds Park in Brevard, NC and ends at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, NC. The Smoky Mountain Relay course takes runners through some of the most beautiful, pristine, and challenging terrain in the Southeast. Along the route runners will see the magnificent granite dome of Looking Glass and spectacular views from the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Mountain to Sea trail."

^ A friend texted that he wanted the +1 to play golf on Sun with him and his sons, then all of us go have dinner. The +1 texted back that he was on his way to NC. I texted that he might wish he had played golf rather than run that race. To be determined...

I had about a 1 day window, but I got it out. Been raining the last few days and the yard is a swamp now.
