Very nice, Peter. The blossom almost looks like it is glowing near its center.

My version would have been: "Pretty flower taken sometime last week. Samsung Galaxy 5S, full auto mode"

And of course the picture would have looked pretty crappy compared to the stuff you and others here capture.

Thanks, for compliment. And calling me "Peter." I wish I could play the guitar, half as well as Peter Green. My legal name is Steve.

The song that turned me onto The Blues. Heard many moon ago, while on a family vacation to Santa Cruz. From an cool Jazz-Blues FM station in Monterey. It took a couple of weeks to cop the tune (acoustic second part is esp hard do get correct). Still torture the family with it, today.

Anyone still use lens filter for effects? I remember using Skylight 1B, for portraits, back in the old school film days. Now, I just used them to protect the lens. One did save my 55-210 zoom, during a rough weather, whale watcher trip.

I have UV filters on all my lenses, it does protect them!

I hope none of these are re-posts. I've gone back to using photo bucket to post, to better keep track of things. The photos look a little less sharp here though....

Love the pansy! I also have that "daisy-like" wildflower. Not sure what it is. Some from garden, today.

Garden flowers from last week and today. Our flowers have just awakened because of a small, cool micro-climate caused by high humidity and shade.

Nice Gary! Wind the name of that flower (not the official name) is Blanket Flower. Rick grew them for the first time this year. They are supposed to be perennial. We'll see next year.
A couple from the garden tonight. Crawled around with the macro....I didn't bother digging out the tripod even though I know I should.

Last a rose...I'm not sure if this is a decent picture, due to the softness or if it just stinks as not much is in focus..... tell me, I can take it! I've learned a lot from comments posted here and other places too.

Thanks, for info! The hummingbird has gone... prolly Northward on his migration. Guess I need to wait for the return migration, later this year.

BTW... for how long is the artificial nectar good? Seems to turn to wine, rather quickly in this heat. Hate to have the little fellas get drunk and crash, from the stuff.
