For me it looks ok from the back, nice from the side, and I'm-Not-Sure from the front.



So what do you think? Is Honda headed back in the right direction styling-wise? Or have they completely lost it?

The Gen 10 Accord is a little lighter and a little shorter than the outgoing model, which itself was a downsize from its predecessor. Power is up a little for the base engine, a 1.5 turbo. HP from the optional 2.0 turbo is down from the discontinued V6 but peak torque is up and is available from 1500 RPM. The best news: Both engines are available with a six speed manual in the Sport version. Like Mazda, Honda is keeping the faith with manual transmission offerings in their mid-size sedan lineup. . (Are you listening, Toyota? Chevy? Ford? Hyundai/Kia?)

 

I think they forgot to install some parts on the front, lower center.

 

The hybrid next 'could' be interesting if they do it right.
the batteries and electric motor will be providing lots'o'torque low in the rev band making it mighty quick while the turbo spools up.

 

No more Coupe for 2018 and no V6 !
Cheap looking center display for the Navi, looks like an after thought.
Love how smooth my 2011 EXL Coupe is with the V6. I guess I will be holding onto to her for a lot longer now.

 

Yeah. That display looks like somebody super-glued an iPad to the dash. The Mercedes C-class looks even worse. They got it right in the E-class. BMW 3-series has the same problem although the display is a lower profile.

And, yes, yet another automaker has fallen for the gaped-mouth look up front that was pioneered by Audi and most hideously executed by Lexus. Sort of makes you miss the Acura beak, doesn't it? Honda has long been criticized for its conservative design language. If this is their idea of "bold" I would rather they make the front end boring.

 

Who signs off on these wheels?
Imo the 2017 was heading in the right direction. Just seems like lots of restyling and random angles for the sake of differentiating the new model

 

They really have totally lost their mojo. That will be as successful as their F1 program.

 

Doesn't do anything for me. I agree that the center grill looks like it has missing parts.

 

Front end looks like the new NSX.

 

I don't think Honda will have any problem selling it. It's the same talk I remember hearing when they introduced the 2012 CR-V, and that vehicle went on to become the best selling crossover in the country. Same thing I remember hearing when Honda released the 2006 Civic and it sold like wildfire. I personally am not crazy about the styling, but it is good, after all these years, to see Honda try to move from it's usual bland styling. I hope they're introducing some nice colors as well. In past years their choice has been limited at best.

I don't think they've hit a styling home run with this one, but at least they're moving in the right direction.

I've heard that the car is a bit smaller and lighter as well. That's also a move in a good direction. The Accord got too big and fat. That's why the Civic is outselling it.
