Were you on Mount Evans for a bike ride? There's an ElliptiGO rider who posted his photos in my Facebook group after riding it. He lives in Boulder, I think.
I'm coming to DEN on Thursday, Aug 10th and leaving on Monday, Aug 14th. My son is too busy for me but I'm coming to hang out with my sister in Colorado Springs and to see a house in Castle Rock, if it is still available.
No, I didn’t bike it - drove to the summit with a friend. It was extremely cold with 80mph gusts. But I have cycled to the summit on two different occasions during a road races several years ago. Believe there was one scheduled for yesterday or today.
Maybe we can meet up If you get a chance to break away from Sis’.
We were in CT today. A couple pics of things that caught my eye. Not sure what these were, but they caught my eye. Photo forum theme today, natural framing. ... The birds planted this for me.
I'm not sure what that building is. I think it's an old barn or something and it's currently used for functions as we could see lights strung up inside. The building was old and quaint, but too many distractions in the photo like wires...so I cropped it down to the most interesting part. The door!
I’m always intrigued about the differences from an northeastern/mid-western state’s photos and those that come from the western states (these areas make most of S2KI’s photos). The Eastern/mid-western states photos are more of a omni-directional bluish cast and the Western states have a more unidirectional and golden cast. Plus the architecture, points of interest, along with tourist destinations, and historic sites are clearly different, too.
Come study the South, sometime. I think you will find a third set of characteristics in our photography. I have a feeling, for example, that in photography, especially commercial photography, the Gulf Coast of Florida may have more in common with the Mississippi delta than either does with similar geographies in other parts of the country. More romantic, perhaps? I have no practical first hand evidence for this so it may or may not be true. But I have a gut feeling that it is.

Thank you. I can't say I've noticed much as far as the cast of lighting in different areas, though we've not traveled off the east coast in quite a while and the truth is, I'm probably not that observant. I do know that I very much appreciate our area, points of interest, architecture, and the very GREEN mountains of VT, an area we are heading back to early next month.
I hope I'm not oversharing on the thread.... I went home at lunch yesterday. Enjoyed the peacefulness of the yard as I ate a salad on my deck. Then a monarch butterfly showed up. I went into the house, grabbed the camera, which fortunately had the macro/good lens on it. I was able to snap a few quick pics. Could not fuss too much with composition and settings. These lovely creatures don't hang around/stay still very long. I wish he/she would have chosen a more pristine flower for it's "photo shoot" and I had to go back to work!
Love those wildflower-landscape photos! Road trip would be nice...
