Dave, your photo reminds me of a trip to South Carolina the +1 & I made years ago. We visited a plantation, and I was walking towards water to take a picture, looking through the camera, when my wife yelled STOP! There was a gator about the size of the one in your photo, about 10 feet in front of me. I would have stepped on him in another three seconds. Yikes!
My hummingbird pic today...I've had better. I was on the deck, but kept startling the bird at the feeder close to me. Took this from across the yard with the 100-400 and cropped it...........a lot! Choices!
Not sure if I posted this one last week...if so I'll delete it...that's why I liked using photo bucket. It seemed easier to keep track of photos I posted.
This one falls into the "small world" category. Rick and I were out cruising yesterday. We stopped at a local herring run where I had seen a blue heron on our last visit. No blue heron this time but a cute baby. I asked the Mom if I could take a few shots. When I reviewed at home, I was, of course, wishing I had used a different lens, had better light, less shadows, better focus, the whole bit. But since this was not planned, I'm still happy with the faces I captured on this one. And in the small world category, when exchanging emails with the Mom, I noticed her last name was the same as a gentlemen I've done business with for years. Yes, she is is daughter and this is his granddaughter.
You ar getting too critical of your own work... its a great shot.
Thanks...I just started shooting, didn't think too much of settings, I let the cute baby take over hoping for the best. I'm happy with several of the shots.
