Unhappy Corroded terminals on speakers and crossovers

Hello all, hoping someone has had this issue and can give some advice. Recently I noticed I was not getting any sound from my front speakers (Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 components). After checking the connections at the HU and at the amp, I pulled the door panels to find a concerning issue. The screw terminals where the speaker wires attach to the subwoofers were badly corroded and rusted. After pulling the crossovers, I noted that several of those terminals also had corrosion and in some cases the speaker wire had separated from the terminals.

It seems that somehow water is getting into the doors and causing this issue. The car is rarely driven in the rain (maybe once or twice a year) but I do was the car often. I have taken the speakers out, replaced all the speaker wire spade connectors with new spade connectors, and cleaned the corroded screws/terminals with isopropyl alcohol. I have seen that they sell some baffles that can be used to protect the speakers from the elements, and also Crutchfield recommends placing the crossovers in ziploc bags if there is a chance for moisture to affect them. Anyone else had similar issues? What would you recommend for this? I'm hoping that the moisture has not damaged the speakers and crossovers, will know more later today when I put everything back together. Below are some pictures of the subs with the corroded terminals.

Buff off surface rust with a wire wheel or brass brush. Then, clean with Deoxit D5. Work screw into and out of connections, several times, to clean threads. Leave a little on the connections, to help prevent future corrosion.

Are the speaker's cones and voice coil okay?

Yes, after sanding all the terminals and screws and cleaning with isopropyl alcohol, I connected the speakers and crossovers and everything is working again. So it appears that other than the rust/corrosion visible nothing else was damaged. I am going to relocate the crossovers to the spare wheel space next to the amp, think leaving them in the doors will invite further corrosion from the moisture that sneaks past the window seals. As far as the subs themselves, will something like this help protect them from the moisture?

Deoxit is pretty good at protecting against weather. Actually, once the contacts are clean, a little 3-in-1 oil also helps to keep the surfaces from further oxidation.
