MB goes Caterham racing

I do like the look of that Macmillan setup, very civilised (though I suspect it is well beyond my meagre budget).
So sorry to see your run of bad luck is continuing, trust me we've all been there in the past. Give me a call before/if you do decide to pack it in though.
Thanks Rich, and will do. I know I can get near the sharp end with a bit more seat time, and don't want to let it beat me but there's a limit as to how much i'm prepared to chuck at it. The Snet weekend cost be about £15k with the engine / car damage and race support etc, and i'm guessing this is going to be an expensive one too
Fortunately the cars repair fairly easy!

That's what I did in real time
Had to avoid the mudguard on the left as they can have studs in them, but was also watching the nose cone comin down on my head at a rate of knots, and the spinning car. Should have gone left but hey ho.
The bill is less than I thought so at least that's good.

The open cockpit (I imagine) makes you react differently and you instinctively prioritize flying debris - real life, literally! In the S cockpit for example you would have been only seeing the track. The danger of life threatening injury from airborne parts in open top racing is something F1 is trying to reduce by introducing the halo protection system.
edit: real bummer this
