Planning Spring PA-MD Drive... Need your feedback!
I went for a drive today to Hagerstown. I found a place that might be a good starting place. One exit south of the I81-I70 interchange is Williamsport MD. Just south of the 11S exit (#2 off of I81) there is a 24 hr waffle house with a huge parking lot... also there is a red roof inn (right behind the waffle house) and seveal gas stations clustered there (Shell, Exxon), along with a McD's. We could take MD-68 straight up to 40W then to I70 and I68.
People could stay at the Red Roof inn Saturday night if they are from out of town. $50 for two people that time of year. They only have one reservation that weekend so far
I spoke to the manager of the Waffle House, he would be happy to let us loiter in his lot and have people come in to have breakfast. I told him we'd just wander in table by table, not as one big group all at once.
More later...

May is a little tough cause there is always so much going on. Its the start of the shore season. I will try my hardest to make this one.
In terms of food, I think everyones brings a bag lunch and stop somewhere cool for a photo opp/ lunch. Like a park or something. Then if the event goes long enough a cool bar/restaurant can be planned at the end for those that want to extend the day.
I may be available to be a group leader but unfortunately will not know until a little closer to then.

Last year we did bagged lunch around 1:00, then dinner at a tavern around 4:00. This time, I'd like to extend the time between eats (people didn't seem all that hungry at the end). Doing the Waffle House, then the tavern at the end, will probably be perfect.

I think a starting time of 9AM -11AM is a great time. If we can get a convoy together it should start early.
Count me in!
I wouldn't mind being a group leader either as long as I get plenty of practice runs
in so that I get to know the routes. (I don't have a fuzz buster though, so I just may have to get one.
