but yes something on the lines of a scavenger hunt or poker run - I've heard Bill has some great roads

Yep, I've got the whole rally in a box! Route, questions, rally-master, rally officials, final destination... All we have to do is pick a day. A Saturday or Sunday is fine. The start point is in Braintree Massachusetts and the Rally route takes you through the south shore of Massachusetts. Martin and I did it last year, so we will have to be officials this year.
Let me tell you all, this thing is a blast. It is a great route and the questions are very clever. It is important to have a navigator with you, so this is a great "car-date" if you are looking for an event to bring the SO along on. He or she will most definately NOT just be along for the ride. At the end of the rally we will score the answer sheets and award prizes at a nice restaraunt.
DON'T BE AFRAID! This is not a contest of speed. It is a scavenger hunt where the contestants collect answers to questions. The answers are found along the route. Example:
"Proceed south on Main street. What historic event occurred in 1873?"
Somewhere on main street is a plaque that tells you what happened in 1873. Write down the answer and drive on.
I would like to have the Cape Cod meet mid to late August, so I'd like to try to schedule this earlier if possible. Another option is to schedule the Rally in September. Steve, why don't we get a few opinions then you can pick a date.
