So the brakes are on, and that's about it for this weekend... Had a bit of a mare, need some hard lines for the rear brakes as there a bit rotten, and some fuel feed and return lines as they look rarther rusty too... That's another £405 from Honda. Still waiting on the throttle cable to arrive, apparently Honda Milton Keynes have never had to order one in before!

I think the car has been left parked up somewhere, possibly by the sea so it's a bit rough underneath, the body is great though, now I'm waiting on a cool, overcast but dry weekend to give her a propper clean! Black is possibly the worst colour to keep clean which I'm starting to realise!

I did refurbish the callipers though and painted them gold. They look much better now!

PLEASE EXCUSE THE AWFUL WHEELS I am genuinely ashamed about the state there in. Tyres where delivered yesterday so need to book a few days off for the wheels to be fully refurbished and new rubber fitted...!

So today's update... I've just orderd a spoon N1 today so looking forward to getting that fitted. All new fuel lines are on order from Honda as well as drop links and a new throttle cable. Just waiting to hear back from HEL Performance to see how much a set of braided hoses will cost to replace the cars brake hardlines. This is slowly turning into a mini restoration project!!!

I think I forgot how loud these exhaust really are and was dreading going to work this morning as I do a little stretch on the m1 but it was actually surprisingly ok. It's ridiculous how loud it is in vtec though, but I like it.

So today's naff jobs that had to be done was replacing my fuel lines. Something that I will never attempt on my driveway again!

This was the offending item, I hardly touched it and it started dripping so it was a case of I had no choice but to finish. Fingers crossed now that there all replaced, I won't have to worry about them again.

I've decided to try and source a front and rear subframe and build them up seperate to the car as doing it piece by piece is just a pain.

Another ball ache that has cropped up is that I've got a puncture on my front near side and rear offside tyres so the plan of getting my wheels refurbished and getting my ad08's fitted has changed to just getting the tyres fitted. Unless I can source another car or set of wheels for a few days.

So it's been a little while since I last put an update on this thread and in all honesty, it has not been great...

A few weeks back my rear left brake decided to seize up on the way to to work, something I was probably expecting in the back of my mind but would have preferred it not to happen just before Christmas.

I've had all the brakes off again and decided to rebuild all 4 corners for peace of mind when I found the fronts where also quite stiff. After stripping them all down and seeing the corrosion in them, I decided to new calipers all round.

As well as this, the hardliners for the brakes that I knew where getting rough, had deteriorated quite a bit, so another job to add to the list was replacing them. Unfortunately most of the lines I need from Honda are back order till march so I've decided to make my own and replace them front to back.

At at this point I had hoped that all will be good and I can do the jobs I need to and get back on the road... NOPE!

With all the wheels and brakes off the car I decided to really give the car a good clean, getting deep in the wheel arches and underneath. Low and behold I had washed off arhat looks like dirt and a coat of some kind to reveal...

Gutted is an understatement but it has forced me to take the car off the road now for some serious work. Ive decided to try and restore this car now which isn't going to be cheap but I plan on keeping this one for a long time.

Ive ordered up the arch panels from Honda, which at £240 was a bit of a sting. The next job will be dropping the sub frame down and stripping it, restoring it and then replacing the bush's. Cleaning the entire under side of the car, finding a good body shop to deal with the arch's. (Hopefully I won't need any more panels) then fully undersealing the car.

I took the rear bumper off to clean up all behind that. It wasn't too bad, I was expecting a lot worse but still, it will all need properly cleaning and sealing.

wish it was just as easy as sticking them on...

She still looks clean as up top though
