CR Tire Specs on 07'
Hey guys
I'm current running Michelin PSS tires on my S2k and find the sidewall soft. The grip is good but steering feel is a bit mushy.
I've been thinking of changing tires this season to Bridgestone Potenza R1-71R as I think they have a harder sidewall and has excellent grip as well.
My current tiresize is OEM at 215 front 245 rear. I don't think I want to go beyond 215 front but rear I was thinking of going 255 which would be the same offset as the CR.
The question is this - do you think this set up will promote more understeer? The reason I'd like to go 255 on the rear is that I'm probably adding power this spring and think the wider tire may help put it down better.
Any insight is appreciated!

Moved to wheels and tires. Most people go with 225/45 front and 255/40 rear. 215f, 255r are stock CR specs, but the 225 in the front will add more cornering grip, especially for an '07 which is slightly prone to understeer. This is the spec I ran on my 07.

The CR has a wider front rim.
just put 225/255 on mine again, note there is a difference between tyre manufacture model size weight ect
My Ad08R are lighter than Federal 595RsRr =0.6 &0.8 lbs.
215 will overheat faster than the 255 rears and upset balance, thats why 215/245 or 225/255 is used.

^^ correct. CR wheels/rims are same size.
I understand 225 up front with 255 in the rear seems to be the popular way to go and I'll probably go this route - but if I can't fit 225 for some reason (just entertain me for a moment). Would 215/255 just like OE CR set up be an improvement over the 215/245 set up I currently have? Other than the comment of the 215's heating up quicker with this set up (which I'm not following the logic since the CR OEM set up is this way) any other concerns with going 215/255?
