Default RIP Barbara Bush

Farewell at 92. A Fine First Lady, strong, down to earth, fiercely supportive of her family, and a significantly influentual person. RIP

She was, in so many ways, the ultimate First Lady of the USA. No matter your politics, she was/is a class act.

So sorry for her family. I too was a fan of Barbara. She inspired me to do a volunteer gig at an "English as a second language" class, as a teacher's assistant. I think I got way more out of that gig than I gave. The students were extremely appreciative.

Strong woman. She was known as "The Enforcer" for good reason. She is someone I would want in my corner if trouble came along in any form. George made a good choice at a pretty young age.

I know that when I supported the people of the 89th Air Lift Wing (which flies AF1 and the entire "executive fleet) at Andrews AFB (Now a joint base) they LOVED her. To a person they always have said what a kind and thoughtful person she was. The same holds true for Laura Bush. Both the folks at the 89th as well as the Secret Service always mentioned how polite she was and would often hold doors open for the detail behind her. As this is about Mrs. Bush, I will not comment further about some other First Ladies.

She was a "class act".

The dignity, strength, class and character of Barbara Bush is quite a contrast to the people in office today. We need to look back to her to see how classy and dignified people in politics can be. I was never a big fan of the Bushes but Barbara Bush stands out as one of our finest First Ladies.

In my opinion the three finest first ladies of the last 100 years (and maybe longer) were Eleanor Roosevelt, Michelle Obama and Barbara Bush.

I would add Jackie Kennedy, I was also not a big Bush fan but she was an exceptional first lady.
