I want another one - already
What is the matter? I just purchased my 05 about a month ago. Now I find myself scouring CarGurus, Cars.com, Craigslist and AutoTrader for an 03 AP1.
I know my wife will never let me buy another one. What is wrong with me?

Maybe you could find an '03 owner willing to work a trade with you?

Do you want ANOTHER S2k on top of your 05? Or are you not happy with the dynamics of the AP2 and would rather the more raw AP1? Personally since my S2k is my fair-weather weekend warrior I opted for an AP1, the more raw feel of it is welcome once in a while to break up the monotony of my daily driver. I haven't driven an AP2 but I'm sure with some simple tweaking of the suspension you could get it dialed in to behave more like an AP1. The engine is a different story but I can't see losing 1k rpm off of the top being such a deal-breaker.
Take that with a grain of salt, I'm not a car connoisseur by any means, what I consider negligible or lack regard for others seem to think it's a huge difference, so excuse my personal take on AP1 vs AP2...I know some people flat out refuse to own an AP2 opposed to an AP1. In all honesty the only reason I have an AP1 looking back is actually it was the only model available with the color option I wanted, otherwise I most likely would've opted for the newest one I could find lol

AP1s are so much fun to me. Their driving dynamics and noise/feel remind me far more of my old B16A and Koni-equipped CRX and BB6 Prelude than the AP2 does. Not that the AP2 is worse, because it feels like a much better and more solid car, but the AP1 just feels like an old Honda with homicidal tendencies, and I adore that.

I don't ever see the need to have two of the same car. One of the things I enjoy about having multiple vehicles is being able to have different experiences depending on what I drive. (Can't go through the roundabouts quite as fast when not in the S2000)
More power to the people who have multiple S2000s.

I had an 05 AP2 which I sold and always regretted. Now I have an 02, AP1
not because I specifically wanted an AP1 but because it was the nicest, low mileage
car I could find. They are/were both great cars. I think the cosmetic changes they
made to the AP2 make the car look a little better, also I like the 17" wheels and tires.
