Just got a used Martin LXK2 (00-sized) guitar. Got it for $250, with case. Plays pretty nice, for such a small thing. Holds a tune well. I walk around house strumming the thing. Much easier than my full-sized HD-28.

I see signs of a used book store shopper – all those Fix-It-Yourself and Do-It-Yourself books.

I use to spend hours looking in used book stores and libraries downsizing looking for period books on sports and race cars. Found some I still think of as the best!

Where small guitars played with any special music or place?

Thanks! Most of my books are from used bookstores or bought used online. I think that all of my songbooks (including that precious Beatles set) were bought at music stores.

I was looking for a guitar that I can carry around the house (between TV, computer, and stereo), to diddle-around with. The big dreadnought Martin is kinda cumbersome. Though a great tone monster.

Definitely have to pick a big harder, to get same level of sound as with the HD28. This is the memorized-forever song I use to test almost all guitars and amps (esp from 4:20 onwards). Driving ppl in house crazy, at the moment.

I have a Baby Taylor. Much smaller, lighter than my full-size guitar. It's fun to play.

My next one is going to be a Taylor GS Mini.

Nice guitar! Are those the headstock bolts on the fretboard. I don't think I've seen an arrangement like that one.

I have a small Takamine from the 60s. It’s a nice Martin lookalike and wannabe. But it has a great sound.

Yes, that's how Taylor attaches it.

Never noticed that before, re: Taylor headstock/fretboard attachment. And I've played on quite a few Taylors. Never owned one.

I love Taks! Friend has a bunch of them. I like the single cutaway types with onboard pre-amp/EQ.

My Martin HD has a piezo pickup under the bridge. Any of you guys record? It's been years since I've done any recording. On a friend's laptop, using Cool Edit Pro software. Pretty neat what you can do, in your home, these days.

What's you guy's favorite tune to strum around the house? I'm currently doing "Raindrops Keep Falling..." This tune is great, on the ukulele.

Wind,

I don't play very well yet, I'm still learning and there never seems to be enough time to practice. What I really like doing is going out on the deck on Sunday afternoon with my Baby and playing the few folk songs that I've taught myself. Sometimes I just pick notes and sometimes I really play. Either way, I really like it. I doubt that I'll ever be really good at it, but if I ever do retire or slow down one of the things (along with working on my TD) that I want to spend some time on is really learning to play.

For now, Springsteen has nothing to worry about.
