Details: Phenomenal adult-owned S2k. It's a 10/10 mechanically and maybe 8.5/10 aesthetically, with a few of the usual rock chips etc that you see on cars with this mileage. In short, it's the perfect car to put miles on and never worry about depreciation. I bought the car via this site three years ago from an especially meticulous ex-Honda engineer, and have tried to maintain it to the standard he set. I have put about 5k miles on it -- no racing or autocross, just fun weekend drives. I love the car and am only selling because my kids are getting bigger and I got a 996 so I could put them in a back seat. The car has needed very little maintenance but I have put in new coil packs and rear control arm bushings, swapped all fluids, including 3x/year oil changes, rebuilt the shifter mechanism, put on new rotors and pads and replaced the driver's side rear tail light. The car comes with the factory original tonneau cover, the original car cover still in the bag, the Honda service manual, and a box of OEM spare parts. I have service logs and records going back through two previous owners to 2015 as well. I recently had the car gone through by Young's Auto Service, the premier S2k specialist in the Philly area, to make sure everything was squared away for the sale.
Upgrades:
- Replacement convertible top with glass rear window
- HKS coilovers
- Enkei RFP-1 wheels
- Backyard Special seat lowering rails for the driver's seat (originals included in sale)
Note that the service logs indicate that the original engine was replaced with a new AP1 engine in 2015, with the work performed by Chew Works, a highly regarded Japanese imports specialist in California. This work was done two owners ago. I have had zero issues with the engine in 5k miles, and neither did the previous owner.
I have posted several photos to this site. More are available on request, along with a cold start video that was too large too upload.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you!

Thank you so much @KC2K ! I can't tell you how sad I am to see this car go. I've had e36 and e46 m3s, a Porsche 944, and a few other great cars, but this one is simply the best car I've ever driven. It's so perfectly set up. If I had garage space for two "fun" cars, I'd keep it literally forever. But the sound my eight year old and six year old sons make when they get to ride in the back of the new-to-me 996 with makes it worth giving this one up.

Hi All,
I've gotten a few questions on VINs and the engine swap over the course of the day, so wanted to answer them for everyone.
On the VINs, 9/10 matching -- the front bumper was swapped or repainted at some point, though as you can see from the pics it's an excellent match.
On the engine, I have a record of it in the maintenance log kept by the last two owners, but not the original shop paperwork. So I took a shot and called the shop that did the work, CheWorks, and was able to speak to the owner, Robert. CHEWERKS - 126 Photos & 167 Reviews - Yelp It happened that he remembered the job because he had swapped in the motor from his personal AP1, on which he was in the process of doing a full build. He said he didn't remember the exact mileage on the engine when it was swapped, but that it was "really low -- probably under 10k." The car has done about 16k miles since the swap, so that suggests a sub-30k mile engine. I can say that it has run perfectly under my ownership, and certainly feels low mileage as this background suggests.
