AC not working on 2003 AP1
Hi,
The AC isn't working on my 2003 S2000. Sitting in the shade in my driveway, the air temperature coming out of the vents is higher than ambient temperature, because I just drove the car in the sun. The pressure at the low pressure port is high, >60 psi. I've seen this once before on a Honda Odyssey minivan. In that case a shop told me that AC compressor clutch (that I had rebuilt a year earlier) had failed.
I tried changing the A/C compressor clutch relay, but it didn't help. I can look down and when the AC is on the clutch spins with the belt. When the AC is off the clutch looks stationary. I'm not sure if this was the case before I changed the relay.
Based on these symptoms what should be my next steps?

Check the connector. See if you can mess with the connector in the back of the AC compressor, and engage the clutch by wiggling it. You can buy replacement connectors on ebay or rockauto. Find out if its the male or female connector. If its the male connector you'll have to wire in a new connector.
Hi Ewgo,
With the system not running the pressure will be the same everywhere in the system.
One cause of this is low amount of refrigerant, as the seal on the compressor shaft leaks and when the pressure is low the low pressure switch will shut the system down. This is typical for systems that are older as the years of leaks add up. If you have access to a vacuum pump, the hose system to add more refrigerant and a can of refrigerant, you can try adding more and see if that will work. I have done this several and it works if the only problem is low refrigerant.
