Default Another suggestion for improving this site

Another suggestion for improving this site. Sometimes I'd like to know if a certain member (or guest) is still active on this board -- let's say I found an old post using the new and improved search engine and I'd like to contact the original poster. Right now the only way to tell is by using the "Find all posts by this member" feature of the member's profile and then look at the last post date. But such a search is quite expensive if all I am looking for is the last post date to see if the member is still active. So by including the "Last post date" in the profile itself, I wouldn't need to do the expensive search.

I just figure the "Last post date" is probably as good an indication as the "Last login date", but either one is useful. Or maybe you can include both because sometimes people stop posting but still come to read messages. Just a thought. Thanks.

This feature is already there. On the "forums" page, scroll all the way down and you will see a list of who is currently online.

Whatever happened to this request? I wanted to see if a particular member is still active on this board and clicked on his name and did not find the "last login date" or his "last post date" in his profile. It would be great if this feature is implemented. Seems "last login date" is more useful than "last post date" because a member can still be "around" actively reading the messages without posting anything. Thanks.

The last post date thing it already here in a way. It's not quite what you suggested but offers the same info. When you view a member's profile click Find all posts by this member. They are listed in reverse chronological order so last to first. I use it all the time for just that purpose, to see how often and when a person posted.

Yes, I realized that after I posted -- I use that feature quite often also just for that purpose. I guess I am looking for the "last login date" to see if a member is still around, sometimes people still log in to read the forums but just do not post. It would be great to have the "last login date" in the member profile. Thanks.
