Default Ask a question pop up

How do I turn it off or block it

It's annoying

I don't want to have to minimise it every time I use the site

"Ask a question" popup? Easy to disable popups. (I thought everyone did.)

Here you go.

The Ask a Question pop-up should only be showing for logged out users. It was created as a way to boost engagement by providing more of a call to action to users who don't have accounts. I checked with our tech team, and can confirm it's only opening when you're logged out. As soon as you log in, it goes away completely (no minimized tab, etc).

If logged in members are seeing the prompt, please ask them to log out, clear their cookies, and log back in. If that doesn't work, please ask them to pass along which specific forum they're in when the prompt appears.
