How come some guests still have an avatar, and others dont? (I'm refering to guests that uploaded an image versus using one of the stock avatars.)

 

Those guests were once members and when their membership expired they were allowed to retain their avatar. If they were to try to change it though, they'd be limited to the free ones available on the site.

 

 

Actually, they did go away for a lot of folks. Me included. Not complaining, though. No membership, no custom avatar. But mine did go away during a site update or outage. I think the only guests who have custom av's now are those whose membership expired after that point.

 

I had one for many years that is now gone but without any action on my part. Are they being eliminated for guests?

 

Not removing avatars from members who've expired was an oversight and was corrected. They keep them for 30 days to allow time to renew.

 

Signatures are next on the chopping block.

Nope.. no pre-set avatars anymore either.
