I knew it wouldn't be 12midnight PST but good things take time. With the new changes, it IS noticeably faster than before you took it down. I likes.
I want to appologise to Rick for their site being down. Things got so despirate Friday that we needed to make this move much quicker than anticipated. Rick's site will be back up very soon.
I picked up the server from the colo in San Diego at 3 and then drove 9hrs to Santa Cruz through LA is the dead center of Friday afternoon rush hour, then spent the rest of the night with Rylan configuring it to the point of actually running. Still much to do to ultimately get things back together. See the things I do for you guys? If it ain't love
Things aren't quite right just yet. We've got most of the tools in place to put it to rest. The web server is still only on a temporary system which is no where near as capable as it needs to be. With any luck, Rylan is out right now picking up what will be our more permanent machine. If that goes well we'll get it going tomorrow for you.
Moving the database to a separate server has made a big difference in finding out what's going on. Clearly the web server component is the bottleneck. Now that we know what we are dealing with we will be making constant performance improvements.
peace.
