Thumbs up Bulk Picture Uploading

OK, so I've searched and read the threads (some pretty epics tomes on the subject) but so far as I can tell the bulk upload doesn't work. I've tried a small batch of test pictures and when the upload failed I was able to process each pic individually. So if it isn't the pics can anyone confirm the status of the bulk upload function?

I just tried it and it works ok for me. I uploaded one image and then 4 more and it was nominal.

Please give me an idea of what happens.

What OS+browser are you using. Any firewall software?

What I did was this (from Mac/Safari):

Go to an album, click bulk upload.
A popup window opened (are you blocking popups?) with a coffee cup image and then I was asked if I wanted to trust the applet. I clicked trust.
The coffee cup image was replaced with a folder image.
I went to some pictures on my disk with the Finder and dragged them to the folder image
A grey popup opened showing me upload progress. It showed the files, paused and then went away.

Where is the chain of events does yours deviate?

Hi there,

That description matches my experience perfectly, right up to the point where the progress bar disappears. At that point I hear a "dunk" sound as the bar disappears but the album contains no extra pictures. I am using XP Home Edition fully patched and FireFox 2.0. I received no error when the applet originally installed and I always see the folder and progress bar when trying an upload. I am accessing the Internet from a corporate LAN but the upload appears to pass the files to the website successfully. Also, I am able to use an uploader program for PhotoBox successfully and this is a Java applet too. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andy

Did you refresh the albm window? You won't see them until you do that. In the folder image popup window, after the upload finishes you should see a scroll bar. If you scroll down it should show a list of the files you uploaded with a green Ok beside them.

Nope, that bit doesn't happen for me - the folder popup window remains a simple folder and doesn't present a green confirmation thingy or a scroll bar. That's where my experience diverges from yours,

Try re-installing Java - make sure you have the most up to date version

Will the bulk upload work with one small image? (try a JPEG or gif less than 1 meg)

The problem may be FF 2.0

I just tried 3 images for 880KB with XP Pro + FF 1.5.0.7 + J2SE RT Update 6 and it worked fine for me. I've never tried it with FF 2.0 beta.

Nope, even trying to upload a single pic with the bulk upload fails

I got this issue with Firefox 1.5.0.7 which was why I upgraded to 2.0,
