It is still on the left, just at the top of the page instead.

I'm not sure what headings you mean. You can jump to the top of the page from anywhere by clicking the up arrow at lower right of every post, down there *looks down and right*

I mean the Home / Gallery / Forums / Chat / Etc.

It was on the left, then it moved to the right.

I do use that little one that's on the top right, sort of a where you've been type thing.

I seem to have adapted.

On the otherhand, I've never clicked on that arrow, that's pretty cool

It just goes to show there are a million way to use the site and everyone has they're own. The section links never bothered me but the nav ones on the top left I'm still getting used to.
