Cancelling a sent PM

Default Cancelling a sent PM
When I cancel a PM I have sent, but has not yet been opened by the recipient, does the recipient get a message that he had a PM that was cancelled? Or is it as if the PM was never sent??

The recipient gets a message that a pm was canceled. I will send you a PM and cancel it so you will see what I mean.
