Let me know if you ever figure out how to solve the problem. I have the exact same symptoms as you. I can go to the S2ki home page, but I can't get to forums. It just trys to load and then says done and has a blank page. When I click on search I get the same XML error you mentioned. I have tried firefox, and I downloaded all of my explorer updates as well.

I do run norton, so I'll try to make adjustments there, but I disabled it and I still cound not get to the forums.

Thanks for the help. I'm at work now so thats how I was able to reply

Dan

db = Decibels! Just kidding, Steve.

db = database. The db offline message he is referring to says "The site is offline for maintenance and upgrades... The site is offline for scheduled maintenance and upgrades. Service will return shortly." I still happens to me once in a while, but not as often as it used to.

I happens when the mods do a lot of modding. Some of the functions they do are really unkind to the database server and can stall it causing that message. I've fixed up a bunch of those to make them more efficient but there are still a few that knock down the site for a few minutes. Unfortunately the moderators do their thing at the same time everyone else is doing theirs, even at peak periods which is when the message is likely to appear.

I am back on-line @ home. I reset my 2wire portal modem (provide by sbc) and now it works. However going through the process to get back on board I did a trace of the site along with an outside person by phone and both of us timed out @ the same time. Below is what the trace shows which means something is going on @ the site which requires attention. Thanks again for everyones help.
