If i try to upload a new avatar, the old one still sticks and the new avatar does not take its place. Also, the old avatar will inherit the image size properties of the new avatar. I can hit the "remove avatar" button many many times, but the old avatar keeps popping up after uploading a new one.

hit Ctrl and refresh - it is your cache i guess - happened to me.

You currently dont have an avatar assigned - if your seeing one, it is your cache
