Default Cookies......

How is it I can log in and post three times and then have the system ask me registration. This is really getting old.

Utah.. I looked at your setup, and you are browsing board with no cookies. I changed your setting to "yes" I do not know if this is the cause, but try and let me know.

Actually, that happens to me once in a while, too. Maybe 1 time out of 6 that I open the forum. Funny, when I type in my user name, it suddenly remembers my password. No biggie. Just life with computers.

If you look at the address bar at top and see ...s=&... then you are browsing with cookies. if you see s=435iou5oi3o4u5o... then you are not. If s= is not not empty you may be asked to login. Make sure your bookmarked links are made while you have s= nothing. That session ID is only good while you are using the board one time, ie. one session. If you come back with an s= something link that something is no longer valid and you'll be asked to login.

The address bar for me contains "...reply.php?s=&action=newreply&threadid=2183 3" right now. See the s=? The ? in the URL marks where the script name ends and the parameters to the script start (like form fields). There are three parameters, each seperated by &. The parameters are s, action and threadid. s is empty and yours should be too.

I'm not sure this makes any sense at all but try this:

Delete any bookmarks you have to the site. Set your options to browse with cookies. Close the browser and reopen it. Go to the site and check that s= in the address bar is empty. Re bookmark.

CThree,

So if someone posts a link to another thread, and that person is not using cookies, it will cause me to be logged out. Correct? Since the link they post will have s=54345t4564?

I am beginning to understand now.
