First off, a big thanks for a little fix . Ya'll recently made a fix that allows a user to be immediately aware that they have a new PM by making the PM Alert at the top of the page bold when ya have some. Cool! Really needed that "differentiation" in the header area to note such changes. Nice job!
Now, a comment towards a suggestion down the road. Of a similar point...but certainly bordering on "non-intuitive"... Once the user arrives at their PM screen, they see the following:
I'm not saying I'm perfect (far from it)... But because I find that about, oh, probably 30% of the time I inadvertantly click the user ID in the center column when I'm meaning to open the subject/PM (and of course, by my actions instead I see the user's profile info instead of the body of the PM)...well, it just seems that something more is wrong here than me just not paying attention to where my mouse is pointed. Granted...with time, I'll learn where I'm supposed to click. And I may just have to do just that. However, I can't help but notice that my current behavior, and its unsuccessful results 1/3rd of the time, leads me to believe it might have as much to do with the format/layout of the PM page, as it does with my index finger clickin' da mouse .
So what would be better? Well, this is assuming there is room for improvement of course. But what if the Subject column were twice as "long" as the other 2 columns? It would make the subject stand out more. Very possibly I make this suggestion because that is generally how the pre-V4 versions of PMs looked . Regardless, I think I'm on to something here. Not a big thing...but something worth considering.
Thanks again!
Dave
PS. Oh...and one more "thanks" goes to finally turning off that blasted e-mail notification feature! Whew! I wore out the clicker on my mouse "selecting" and deleting all those notifications to forums I'm subscribed to . Thanks again!
