How is that a personal attack - I didn't see any rule breaking, just a difference of opinion.
I knew I should have quoted the part of the post I felt was offensive.

Anyone running springs doesnt take suspension seriously. Anyone who "slams" their car doesnt take suspension seriously.[
We should be able to discuss suspension without people being told they aren't seroius. That's both wrong, and offensive.

Certainly we don't need a new forum expressly for that purpose.

^^ THIS IS WHY WE DON'T NEED A SUSPENSION FORUM! ^^

We have far too many people here who can't discuss the topic without resoorting to personal attacks (based entirely on their own ignorance). I hate this type of arrogant post!

And this particular load of shit come from a MODERATOR. If it were my site I'd fire you for posting this kind of trash.

Not everybody gives a f**k about having the best handling! Most owners will NEVER take their cars to the track and have better things (to them) to spend an assload of money on than doing their suspension the "serious" way.

Probably so, but I get sick and tired of hearing this kind of thing. Classifying people (with no real basis for the classification) is bigotry, and something we don't need here on S2kI.

When you classify people it is a personal attack on a group rather than an individual, but it's still a personal attack. I object to the statements becaue they are incorrect and wrongly classify me (and I'm sure I'm not the only one).

I appreciate the support, but ...

I'm already involved in a (PM) discussion with the moderators about this, but I'm not sure I'm getting anywhere. Apparently you and I should accept the way we have been stereotyped as if it wern't offensive, but from your post I can see the truth of it.

That said, and as much as I appreciate your support (becasue you do show that I'm not the only person to find this kind of thing offensive), but if you're not serious about your cars handling or suspension tuning, then you're not (and there is NOTHING wrong with that). What I object to are the implications: If I am serious about suspension tuning and have lowered my car with springs I must be stupid or not know enough about auto motive suspensions know what I'm talking about.

I dont know why you got offended, but here is a little more on the subject...I didnt insult anyone. I didnt say people with springs are idiots. I said, that on other forums that have a suspension subforum, it is meant for track. Having another forum to watch out for, filled with "what coilovers should I get" is not necessary. Why not have a subforum in the electronics section on alarms? On fiberglass? On woodwork? On speakers? On subs?

There are WAAAAY too many know it all "experts" on this site. Some people know who to trust, while others do not. This is present in all forums. Being a moderator, I pay more attention to some of these things than a regular member. We have had instances in the electronics section, where an "expert" was giving out completely wrong information, and that information could have cost an unsuspecting member a lot of time and money. With suspension, there are even more know it alls. I dont know much about suspension. However, I know EXACTLY who to PM if I need any help. Certain sections of s2ki are more relaxed than others (electronics and wash and wax are prime examples) where there is no bickering.

A suspension forum would contain WAAAAAY too many arguements. I see how people react when all 4 of their tires are tucked, and someone says it looks like crap.....all the "hater" terms come flying out.

Bottom line is, everyone knows, that unless you are spending some SERIOUS money on suspension, you WILL NOT get better suspension than stock. The hardcore track guys know this. Thus, the liability, irresponsibility, warranty, etc, would be too much for people to advise on. Agree with me or not, a FAQ on how to slam your car does NOT warrant a subforum. In a perfect world, I would agree, that with a car like an s2000, a suspension forum could be useful, but from the majority of the suspension posts we have here, its not.

Agree to disagree.

Red, NFR,

Some overreaction here. Let's let that go.

1. From an objective point of view, I think minh has a valid question... We have an FI forum, a wheel&tire forum... Why not a suspension forum?

2. OTOH, do we really need another forum?

I think there's always competition here on the site. Some of it is hate, but usually it's light-hearted. Color wars, AP1 vs. AP2, I mean none of this is new.

Yeah, true, everyone has an opinion... I don't see that as any different than the myriad of other subjects that've come up around here over the years.

Just my $0.02.

instead of having a dedicated suspension subforum, how about an improved search function! Using the search on this site is frustrating sometimes. Most (suspension) q's can be answered with a search anyway.

if people want to give advice on how to slam their s2000 (or any car), i say let them. and they should be free to do so in a suspension forum.

but dont expect advice from me either.

however, i think a good suspension FAQ is in order at the very least.
