Default Default Picture/Image Sizing in posts

It use to be that it didn't matter how big the picture was, the coding would default them to a medium viewable size and you could click on it to enlarge. But that coding seems to be gone now. If someone posts a 2480x2000 pic that's how it'll show up in the thread. Can we put the coding back?

Dan, I'm sure that has to do with whether the pic is hosted here on s2ki or elsewhere. If it's hosted elsewhere and posted using the IMG tags, then there's no resizing that has ever gone on.

Ah, so it's your own pics that are showing fullsize? I didn't understand that from your first post.

The photo gallery images will show in a 600 pixel wide size. Photos from outher sources aren't sized so they are what they are. To size them we would need to download them to the server, check their size, and set the page to force the image to a specific size. That means us having to download and analyze every off site image before you see it. It can be done but it's a bandwidth hog and will slow down the delivery of pages.

It might happen in the future as bandwidth isn't of great concern right now.

Dude, dont go there. It's not the bandwidth that 's gonna kill you.

ok that's my point it use to be that anything you put in the photo album would show up in a thread as 640x480 but now it seems to be random for example look at this page.

Give that man a cigar! HAHAHA. Weird isn't it? I notice that it does it randomly in the threads I've seen.
