Do I need to be a member to reply to my own WTB threads?

I've posted a couple of times in the WTB section and I get responses asking questions and the only way I can respond is through PMs. Things could get resolved much more quickly if I was able to do that plus it'll give other sellers additional information. Is this for a fear of constant bumping? Thanks
